What is FSc Operation Theatre Technology?
Operation Theatre Technology trains you to run the operating room — the most high-stakes environment in the hospital. FSc OTT at RCCS teaches you to identify and handle every surgical instrument (general + specialty), set up the OT for any procedure, manage anesthesia machines and monitors, maintain a perfect sterile field, operate the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) for autoclaving and instrument tracking, position patients for every surgical approach, and assist the surgeon and anesthetist during the case. The FBISE curriculum covers surgical anatomy, instrument science, anesthesia pharmacology, OT nursing, CSSD protocols, and common surgical procedures.
This is an OT technician qualification — you work under the surgeon and anesthetist. But it is also the standard entry pathway to BS Surgical Technology (4-year) and BS Anesthesia Technology (4-year), where you advance to senior OT technologist, anesthesia technologist, OT manager, or transplant coordinator.
