What is FSc Medical Lab Technology?
Medical Lab Technology is the backbone of modern diagnosis — every treatment decision starts with a lab result. FSc MLT at RCCS teaches you how to collect specimens, run hematology analyzers, perform biochemistry tests, culture bacteria, match blood for transfusion, and prepare tissue slides. The FBISE curriculum covers the full diagnostic workflow: pre-analytical (collection, labeling), analytical (testing, QC), and post-analytical (reporting, filing).
This is a technician-level qualification — you enter the workforce in 2 years as a competent Lab Technician. But it’s also the standard entry qualification for BS MLT (4-year degree), which opens senior technologist, lab manager, and lab ownership pathways.
Who Should Apply?
- Matric-pass students who like science, precision, and behind-the-scenes healthcare impact
- Students wanting a fast-track to a hospital job (2 years vs 4 for BS)
- Those planning BS MLT later — this FSc covers Year 1–2 foundations (hematology, micro, pathology)
- No age limit — career changers, gap-year students welcome
